Three people face charges after Cape Breton Regional Police seized a combined total of $55,000 worth of illegal drugs in recent weeks, as part of ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in the CBRM.
Street Crime Officers executed three separate search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act: at a residence in Lousibourg on February 29th, they seized Cocaine, thousands of Oxycodone pills, cash and firearms; at a residence in Florence on March 4th, they seized Buprenorphine pills, a large amount of unstamped tobacco, and firearms; and at a residence in Glace Bay on March 19th, they seized hundreds of Oxycodone, methylphenidate and Buprenorphine pills and a large amount of cash.
Individuals were arrested during each of the searched and later released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court.
Joseph Martin Brown, 77 of Florence, is scheduled to appear in Court on April 24th, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Buprenorphine, Possession of Unstamped Tobacco and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.
Calvin Barter, 60 of Louisbourg, is scheduled to appear in Court on May 1st, 2024, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.
Robert Allen Deveaux, 59 of Glace Bay, is scheduled to appear in Court on May 8th, 2024, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Buprenorphine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methylphenidate and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
