Cape Breton Regional Police are looking for people who may have seen or heard details that are important to an ongoing investigation into shots fired from a vehicle on Amber Drive in Sydney Mines.
Officers responded to a call from a resident at approximately 11:45 PM on January 13th, reporting that shots had been fired at a house from inside a vehicle driving on the road. No one was injured, and with information from the scene, officers were able to quickly identify and locate the vehicle – a 2008 grey Mazda 5, which was seized and processed for evidence with assistance from Forensic Identification officers.
Investigators are treating this as an isolated incident and continue to collect information about the person(s) involved. They would like to speak to anyone who has video – in addition to what has already been reviewed – from the neighbourhood around Amber Drive, between the hours of 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM on January 13th, as well as anyone who has information about the people known to operate this vehicle, or about the incident.
