Cape Breton Regional Police are investing a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Third Street and West Avenue in Glace Bay Saturday night, September 21st.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:00 PM, where two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle. A man and woman, both in their 60s were injured; EHS arrived on scene to transport both to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and officers spoke with witnesses and the driver of the vehicle – a Ford f-150 truck – which was seized and towed for inspection.

The woman was transported to Halifax by Life Flight for further treatment of serious injuries and on September 22nd, she was pronounced deceased.

Traffic Safety investigators and Forensic Identification officers attended the scene and continue to investigate the collision. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.
