Three people face charges after Cape Breton Regional Police seized illegal drugs from two separate vehicle stops, as part of ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in the CBRM.

On October 20th, Street Crime officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of the Cape Breton Correctional Centre, in which a female was traveling to visit the facility; inside, they located and seized contraband tobacco, hashish and nicotine patches.

Rainbow Marie Mackay, 35 of Pictou, is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 11, 2024, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Distribution.

Street Crime officers stopped another vehicle on Water Street in Glace Bay October 23rd, where they found two passengers with drugs in their possession and seized Cocaine, Ritalin, cash and other drug paraphernalia from inside the vehicle.

Kenneth Douglas Campbell, 42 of New Waterford and Kallie Renee Young, 25 of Glace Bay are both charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine and Methylphenidate (Ritalin), as well as Possession of Proceeds of Crime. They are scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court December 11, 2024.
