Cape Breton Regional Police have charged a 38-year-old man in connection to the disappearance of Kenneth “Justin” Macdonald.
Mitchell George McPhee is charged with Manslaughter, Robbery and Assault; he was arrested in Sydney on December 12th, as part of extensive investigation by the Major Crime Unit.
Justin MacDonald – described as 5’9” tall and 240 pounds, with sandy blond hair and blue eyes – was last seen on July 7th, 2024 at approximately 11 PM at the Irving gas station located at 183 Commercial Street, North Sydney, where he was captured on store video. Police later located Justin’s vehicle, a blue Kia Forte, NS License Plate #FYZ-715 approximately 25 km away in the Ormond Crescent area of Mira Road, in CBRM. Police have been actively investigating his disappearance and have followed up on several leads, including multiple searches with K9 and Drone teams and Ground Search and Rescue.
