An 18-year-old faces weapons charges after Cape Breton Regional Police investigation into damage to properties on Brown Street in Sydney.

Officers originally responded to residents who reported damage they believed to be caused by bullets between October 24th and 29th. With assistance from the Forensic Identification Unit, police collected statements and evidence that led them to identify a person in another residence on Brown Street, believed to be responsible for causing the damage. Officers arrested the person on November 1st and further executed a search warrant at his residence, where they found a rifle and ammunition inside.

After further investigation, Nathan Joshua King-Colson was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre, charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and a Breach of previous Court-ordered release conditions.
