A 22-year-old now faces charges for a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Churchill Drive in Membertou on February 7th.
Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the scene at approximately 8:30 PM, where a pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The victim was transported by EHS to Cape Breton Regional Hospital where she was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Traffic Safety Unit processed the scene for evidence and obtained further information leading them to identify a White 2015-2021 Volkswagen Golf as the suspect vehicle. Through investigation, police were able to locate the vehicle involved and identify the driver.
Mitchell Charles Doucette will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on April 22, 2025 charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Causing Bodily Harm.
