Two men face drug and weapons charges as a result of ongoing Cape Breton Regional Police investigation into illegal drug activity in CBRM.
On February 5th, Street Crime and Community Safety Enforcement officers stopped a vehicle on the Esplanade in Sydney, where they seized bags of Cocaine, cash, a firearm and ammunition. The two men traveling inside the vehicle were arrested.
Dwayne David Lucas (51) and Vernon Stanely MacLean (48) are charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, with Knowledge and in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition.
