A 36-year-old man faces charges for the January 7th robbery at Big Ben’s Convenience Store on Prince Street in Sydney.
Cape Breton Regional Police originally responded to the store at approximately 2:45 AM, where a clerk reported a man had entered the store and demanded money, while threatening use of a weapon. He took money from the register and left in a vehicle that officers later located on a New Waterford street and confirmed to be previously reported stolen.
With video surveillance and assistance from the public, police located the suspect on Townsend Street this afternoon, January 10th, where he was arrested without incident. After further investigation, Dana Alexander Smith was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre, charged with Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property.
