Police arrest two in separate serious incidents

September 18, 2013

At approximately 6:35 pm, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a Domestic call on Sangaree Rd in Albert Bride. A male had barricaded himself inside his residence after his wife had left house. Police contained the area after learning that firearms were present in residence. Negotiating began on scene and  ERT members responded assist. Shortly after members used a Taser to arrest the 58-year-old male, who was treated by EHS and taken into police custody where he will be held for Court. The Major Crime Unit is investigating; numerous charges are pending. There were no other injuries.

Further, at approximately 7 pm police had a pursuit in Dominion, with a male suspect in from an earlier matter. No one was injured. The 47-year-old male was taken into custody and will be held for Court, facing charges of Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, Threats and Damage to a Motor Vehicle. Police continue to  investigate and further charges are pending.
