Jerry Walter Jessome is charged with Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Careless Use of a Firearm and two Breaches.

Police were originally called to the area of King and Stanley Streets at approximately 2:40 PM on March 7th, where a witness reported seeing a man with a hand gun entering a residence. Police quickly contained the area of the residence and encouraged two males to exit, where they were arrested without incident.

Further investigation led police to obtain a search warrant for the King Street residence on Saturday, where they located the reported weapon, a black BB Gun that appears an exact replica of a 9 MM hand gun.

Police released the second male, a 33-year-old, without charges. Jessome was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre Saturday, until his scheduled Court appearance.
