Vehicle stop leads to drugs and weapons charges

September 15, 2020

Four people were scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court today, after Cape Breton Regional Police seized drugs, weapons and cash from a vehicle in Glace Bay Monday. 

Officers on patrol identified an individual known to be in breach of previous Court-ordered release conditions, in a vehicle on Brookside Street, and activated emergency lights to stop it. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers confirmed the driver to be the suspect in question and observed him attempting to hide something inside the vehicle. While placing him under arrest, officers observed three other passengers and various drug paraphernalia; all were removed from the vehicle, through which officers located and seized more than 150 grams of cocaine, marijuana, knives, and close to $10,000 in cash (photo attached) and arrested all occupants. 

After further investigation and collection of evidence, police charged the 4 as follows: 

Bruce Richard Mills, 48 of Sydney – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine & Crack Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Weapon (x2) for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and four Breaches of previous Court-ordered conditions. 

Patrick Alphonsus Farrell, 50 of Glace Bay – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine & Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two Breaches of previous Court-ordered conditions. 

David Robert Sharpe, 44 of Glace Bay – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine & Crack Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. 

Emily Paige Wilson, 23 of Glace Bay – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine & Crack Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
