Justin Michael Chant faces a charge of Trespassing at night, and a number of Breaches of previous conditions.

Early Sunday morning, February 1st, police responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in a driveway on Steels Hill Road; police tracked the suspect’s footprints throughout the neighbourhood and with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, located him in a nearby yard where he was arrested without incident.

Chant was later remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre until his Court appearance.

Police remind residents to take the necessary precautions to help prevent possible crimes of opportunity and protect your belongings. Unlocked doors allow quick and easy entry, and the sight of valuables is often a temptation for potential theft. Keep vehicles and shed doors locked and remove valuables from vehicles or out of plain sight; on properties, store valuables in a safe and secure place.
