Police quickly contained the area, while members of the Emergency Response Team and Negotiators made their way to the scene. Police made contact with the occupants of the residence, and the male exited a short time after, surrendering to police without further incident. There were no shots fired, and no injuries.

Further investigation by the Major Crime Unit led police to obtain a Search Warrant for the residence, where they seized a firearm and ammunition.

The man has since been released from police custody on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on October 21, 2014, where he’ll face charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
