Employees contacted police after receiving the envelope by regular mail. It was not opened, and no one came in contact with its contents. Members of the Sherriff’s Department contained the envelope in a secure area until police arrival.

The main floor of the building was evacuated as a precaution. Police are awaiting arrival of the Hazmat team who will remove the envelope to a secure and contained location until arrival of the RCMP CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive) team for further analysis of its contents.

Police continue to investigate to determine the origin of the letter, which appears similar in nature to others received across the province.
