Police investigate suspicious fire in Bras d'Or
November 15, 2014
The Florence Fire Services along with the Cape Breton Regional Police Service responded to a structure fire on Saturday night November 15th at 11:51 PM, where the large building at the intersection of Alder Point Road and Highway 105 was fully engulfed with flames when first responders arrived on the scene.
Police assisted with traffic control, and evacuated surrounding homes as a precaution because of the large fire and the possibility of it spreading to surrounding homes and businesses.
The fire was extinguished and deemed suspicious by Fire Services; security was placed on the scene and the CBRPS Forensic Identification Unit and Nova Scotia Fire Marshall's Office will be attending the scene today. The matter will be turned over to the Arson Investigator with the Cape Breton Regional Police Service.
