 Police seize pills valued at $9000, charge two

Two men will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today for drug trafficking after Cape Breton Regional Police seized prescription drugs from a Membertou residenc

The Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on Gallagher Street Tuesday, January 8th.  Officers seized approximately 200 Hydromorphone and Morphine – totalling an estimated street value of $9,000.00 – as well as a firearm, and arrested three people.

A 46-year-old and 33-year-old face charges for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Hydromorphone, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Morphine and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm. The 33-year-old also faces charges of Trafficking in both Hydromorphone and Morphine, as well as three Breaches of previous Court-ordered conditions. A 42-year-old man was released without charges.
