Police seize over $200,000 worth of drugs, charge pair for trafficking

Two Marion Bridge residents will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today after police seized more than $200,000 worth of drugs from a Hillside Road residence last night, August 7th.

The Cape Breton Regional Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and seized a kilogram and a half of cocaine, over eleven pounds of marihuana, $30,000+ in cash, as well as drug-related paraphernalia, a firearm and ammunition.

Officers arrested a 42-year-old male and 32-year-old female, who remain in police custody.  They both face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Marihuana, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
