Police seize hundreds of pills, charge four

Four people appeared in Sydney Provincial Court today to face a combined total of 20 charges after Cape Breton Regional Police seized prescription drugs from residences in Birch Grove and Glace Bay.
The Street Crime Unit, with assistance from Community Safety Enforcement officers and RCMP Drug officers, executed search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on 1st Street in Birch Grove and Cottage Street in Glace Bay Thursday, September 27th.Officers seized more than 400 prescription pills – including Ritalin, Percocet, Hydromorphone, codeine, Lisdexamfetamine and Clonazepam – as well as marihuana and cash, and arrested three men and one woman.
Graham Leslie Toomey (60, Birch Grove), Tammy Wanda Gale (49, Glace Bay) and George Derrick MacNeil (62, Glace Bay) are each charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x5) and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. MacNeil is also charged with one Breach of previous Court-ordered conditions. Jospeh Alexander Neary (60, Birch Grove) is charged with Possession of Marihuana.
