Police respond to potential weapons complaint

On Monday, April 18, at approximately 10:25AM, the Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a potential weapons complaint at Memorial High School in Sydney Mines.
Police responded to the school, and with the assistance of the school liaison officer, were able to identify and locate the 16-year-old male student in the building, who was arrested immediately and without incident. Police located a soft air pistol in his possession.
No injuries were reported, and CBRP have deemed there is no threat to public safety.
The CBRPS continues to investigate.
