Police looking for suspects in armed robbery

April 13, 2016

On Wednesday, April 13, at approximately 12:35AM, the Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of an armed robbery that had taken place at Needs on George Street in Sydney.

The first suspect was described as a male who appeared to be in his 20’s to 30’s, was approximately 200 pounds and 5’8” to 5’10” tall, and was wearing light coloured jeans, a grey hoody with writing on the front, and a green bandana covering his face.

The second suspect was described as a male who also appeared to be in his 20’s to 30’s, was approximately 180 pounds and 5’10” to 6’ tall, and was wearing jeans, a black Adidas style jacket with white strips down the arms, a grey baseball hat, and a white bandana on his face.

Both suspects, one of which was armed with a weapon, entered the convenience store, demanded money from the clerk and fled from the scene in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money. The store clerk sustained a minor injury to his forehead and nose, but refused medical attention.

Members of the CBRP Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units continue to investigate.
