Police locate man lost in woods

February 13, 2019

At approximately 10:12 am Cape Breton Regional Police Service Dispatch received a call from a 22 year old male who had become lost in a wooded area near Ducker Lake, which is located between Hills Road and Dutch Brook.

Patrols from Central Division as well as a search coordinator and police K-9 units attended immediately. With the pending snow storm police requested Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue who attended with 13 searchers. The male was able to stay in contact with dispatch until his cellular phone battery died.

A police K-9 unit located the male at 2:15 pm; once out of the woods the male was checked over by Emergency Health Services paramedics and other than being cold was medically cleared.
