Police issue arrest warrants for three people

December 16, 2016

Cape Breton Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance locating three people wanted in connection to a home invasion.

Police originally received a complaint Wednesday evening, December 14th, that the individuals had forced their way into a Ferry Street home demanding money from two occupants inside. The parties involved are all known to each other.

Nathan Brian Medel (35) of Sydney, Edward James O’Brien (25) of North Sydney, and Carolyn Ann Dermody (18) of North Sydney face charges of Break and Enter, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon and Breaches of Court Orders.

Medel is 5’9” and 180 lbs with brown brush cut hair and blue eyes; Obrien is 5’7” and 170 lbs with brown brush cut hair and hazel eyes; and Dermody is 5’4” and 115 lbs with long blonde / light brown hair and blue eyes.

They were last known to be traveling in a purple or red 4-door Chev Cavalier with a loud exhaust and temporary permit in the back window.
