Police investigating suspicious fire

November 7, 2016

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a house on Queen Street in Scotchtown. The house was vacant at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Police were originally called to the fire around 10:20 PM on November 6, where the Scotchtown Volunteer Fire Department was already on the scene. The fire was deemed suspicious.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Unit, who will both continue to work at the scene.
