Police investigating suspicious fire

October 20, 2016

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating a suspicious fire at an apartment complex on Harrison Avenue in Sydney. The apartment unit was vacant at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Police were originally called to the fire around 11:55 PM on October 19, where the Sydney Fire Department was already on the scene. The fire was deemed suspicious.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Unit, who will both continue to work at the scene.
