Police investigating incident on Inglis Street, Sydney

At approximately 11:34 AM, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report that a woman had run out of a residence, yelling and in distress, on Inglis Street in Sydney. Upon arrival, police learned the woman had been a victim of an assault.
Patrol officers and Major Crime Unit members responded to the scene, where the 39-year-old woman was transported by EHS paramedics to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
Shortly after, members were able to locate a 29-year-old female suspect, who is now in custody and charges are pending.
The investigation is on-going.
