Police investigate armed robbery in New Waterford

October 25, 2016

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating after responding to a report of an armed robbery at Midway Taxi on Plummer Ave in New Waterford on October 25.

At approximately 2:45 AM, a man entered the building armed with a weapon and demanded money from the employee. A brief struggle took place and the suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’9” tall, wearing a dark blue hoodie and a bandana covering his face.

The victim sustained minor injuries, but refused medical attention.

Members of CBRPS East Division Patrols, the K9 Unit and the Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.
