Police charge youth for assault at Breton Education Centre
November 21, 2018
A 14-year-old New Waterford boy faces charges for threats and assault at Breton Education Centre this morning.
Shortly after 9:00 AM, the School Liaison Officer present in the building was assisting school staff in a discussion with an uncooperative student, when that student threatened to harm the staff and officer. As a result, the officer proceeded to place the student under arrest and while doing so, the student injured the officer’s face with a pencil in his hand. As a precaution, school administration placed the school in a Hold & Secure; additional officers responded and within minutes, removed the student from the school in police custody, at which time school administration lifted the Hold & Secure.
The boy was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 5th, when he’ll face charges of Uttering Threats and Assault with a Weapon.
