Police charge man for Millville vehicle theft

August 16, 2018

A 26-year-old Sydney resident was scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court this afternoon in connection to a stolen vehicle.  Corey Patrick Richard Blinkhorn is charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Trespassing and two Breaches of a Probation Order.

Cape Breton Regional Police arrested Blinkhorn late yesterday evening, August 15th, when patrol officers observed an argument between two men in the parking lot of the Irving on George Street. Upon approaching them, Blinkhorn ran from police, but officers quickly caught up and placed him under arrest for fleeing.  While in custody, officers linked Blinkhorn to the earlier reported theft of a Chev Silverado truck from a residence on the Millville Highway, August 8th, where through witness statements and video surveillance, officers had identified him as a potential suspect.
