Police charge man for assault

December 31, 2018

A 47-year-old North Sydney man will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today after an altercation in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire on Blower Street Sunday afternoon.

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the area at approximately 4:30 PM, locating one man in the parking lot who required medical attention and was transported by EHS to Cape Breton Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

With witness information, and assistance from the K-9 Unit to recover evidence, investigators arrested that same man on his release from the hospital and through further investigation later charged him with Uttering Threats, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. He was held in police custody for today’s Court appearance.
