Police arrest male for vehicle entries

June 20, 2016

At approximately 7:10 PM on June 19, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the Savoy Theatre parking lot in Glace Bay, after receiving a report of a male seen smashing the windows of two vehicles in the parking lot.

CBRP East Division Patrols assisted by the K-9 Unit were able to locate the suspect, arresting the male shortly after on Official Row in Glace Bay.

39-year-old Thomas Gerard Rogers of Glace Bay is charged with Mischief (x2), Breach of Undertaking, Possession of Weapon for dangerous purpose, Assault with a weapon, and Possession of Property obtained by crime. Rogers has been remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Facility and is expected to appear in the Sydney Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 22.

Police remind residents and motorists to take the necessary precautions to help deter these crimes. Be sure to lock your doors and remove valuable items from vehicles and out of plain sight.
