Police arrest female and male following armed robbery in Sydney

September 19, 2016

A 36- year-old female and 51-year-old male have been arrested following an armed robbery on Dorchester Street in Sydney earlier today, September 19.

Cape Breton Regional Police first responded to a report of an armed robbery at approximately 3:10 PM on September 19 in a parking lot on Dorchester Street, where a woman approached the victim armed with a weapon and demanded money. A brief struggle took place, and the suspect then fled the scene.

CBRP K9 unit pursued the suspect’s track and police were able to locate and arrest the female and male shortly after.

The victim is being transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries at this time.

Cape Breton Regional Police Patrol and K9 units, and the General Investigation Section continue to investigate.
