Police charge 18 more for prostitution activity in Sydney

August 10, 2018 

A total of 18 men from throughout the CBRM face charges for Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration as the result of ongoing and extensive investigation in response to continued prostitution activity in downtown Sydney. Cape Breton Regional Police made the arrests over a 6-week period; all were released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court, beginning on Monday, August 13th. Police charge 3 after investigation connected to fatal Leitches Creek collision 

August 2, 2018

Cape Breton Regional Police have concluded the investigation of a June 10th fatal motor vehicle-pedestrian collision on Highway 223, as well as the circumstances of a graduation party in the nearby area that same night. Major Crime investigators, with assistance from Traffic Safety and Forensic Identification Units have brought together evidence from the scene, accident reconstruction and vehicle analysis, interviews and statements from more than 30 individuals, the Medical Examiner’s report and consultation with the Crown Prosecutor.
