Man charged for multiple Break and Enters

A 28-year-old man will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today facing 10 charges connected to Break and Enters in New Waterford during the overnight hours of July 4th.

Fatal collision investigation continues

Cape Breton Regional Police continue to investigate the cause of the weekend’s fatal motor vehicle-pedestrian collision on Highway 223 Sunday morning; based on first-hand observations from several officers at the scene, as well as further investigation, there is no evidence to indicate the driver of the vehicle was impaired. Traffic Safety investigators, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Unit, are reconstructing the collision and awaiting results of vehicle analysis.
Police continue to investigate death, motor vehicle collision

Cape Breton Regional Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of a 17-year-old North Sydney youth found on the Highway 223 early Sunday morning.
Autopsy results have helped police confirm that the youth died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision. A vehicle was seized at the scene, and members of the Traffic Safety Unit continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Police charge impaired driver after collision into house
June 6, 2018
At approximately 9:40 PM June 5th, Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a home on Main Street in Reserve Mines, to reports of a vehicle striking a house.
Upon arrival, police located a female driver still in her vehicle and not injured. She was arrested at the scene for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and release on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court at a later date. One male was home at the time, but not in the area of the house where the car entered and he was not injured.
The Reserve Mines Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene. Members of the Traffic Safety Unit continue to investigate.
