Police stop vehicle, seize prescription drugs

June 13, 2013

Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime and RCMP Drug Units stopped a vehicle Thursday evening on Sterling Road in Glace Bay. As a result of the vehicle stop, police seized a quantity of Cocaine and Hydromorphone and arrested and charged one male with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, and Possession of Hydromorphone. The male was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on August 14th.

Police seek public assistance with investigation of stolen solar panels

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating the theft of four solar panels from ECBC soil monitoring stations on Daley Road in New Victoria.

A 34-year-old male and 23-year-old female will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on Tuesday morning, June 11th, to face a combined total of 47 charges in connection to 9 Break and Enters throughout the CBRM.

Police seize large quantity of Marihuana

June 7, 2013

At approximately 6:00 PM on June 6th, members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit and RCMP Drug Unit stopped a vehicle in Howie Centre; with a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, police searched the vehicle and seized 23 pounds of Marihuana. The 23-year-old male driver was arrested and remains in police custody to face charges in Sydney Provincial Court this morning.

 



Police charge man with drug possession

June 5, 2013

Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit arrested a 41-year-old Sydney male on Welton Street this afternoon, for Breaching a Conditional Sentence Order. During the arrest, police also found Hydromorphone pills in his possession and charged John Steven MacKinnon with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, as well as a Breach.

He was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre to appear in Sydney Provincial Court tomorrow morning, June 6th.
