On Wednesday October 24th at 8:42 PM, police responded to a 911 call stating a male person was stabbed outside a business establishment on Kings Road in Sydney River. Upon arrival, police assisted a male who was stabbed during an altercation; the suspect fled the area before arrival of police. EHS arrived on scene and transported the victim to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The suspect was arrested overnight and remains in custody while police continue to investigate. The victim was treated at hospital and released.
