The vehicle involved, a 2005 Pontiac Pursuit, collided with the male pedestrian from Sydney, sending him to hospital with serious injuries to his head. The male driver who was in his late 20’s was shaken up but did not require medical attention. The vehicle has been seized for a mechanical inspection.

The accident is under investigation by the Traffic Safety and Forensic Identification Units of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service. Police are not commenting on if charges will be filed against the driver of the pursuit at this point as the matter is currently still under investigation.
