Man faces weapons charges

April 26, 2019

A 29-year-old Sydney man is expected to appear in Sydney Provincial Court today after Cape Breton Regional Police found him in possession of a weapon on Charlotte Street.

At approximately 10:30 AM Thursday, April 25th, an officer on patrol noted a man who appeared to be sleeping in a parked vehicle; after several attempts by the officer to get his attention, the male finally responded and opened the driver’s door, when the officer noticed what appeared to be the handle of a gun under the man’s legs. The officer ordered the man out of his vehicle and placed him under arrest; additional officers responded and safely secured the firearm which was determined to be an Airsoft BB Gun.

Upon further investigation, Colin Martin Graham was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited; Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and two Breaches of previous Court-ordered conditions.  He was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre until his Court appearance.
