Police deal with several impaired drivers overnight

July 28, 2013

Cape Breton Regional Police Service dealt with five separate incidents involving impaired drivers last night.

In Central, the Community Safety Enforcement Unit located two impaired drivers and Patrol officers a third; there were no accidents resulting from these three cases.

In North, Patrol officers arrested an impaired driver after responding to a complaint of a minor motor vehicle accident on Johnson Road in George's River. There were no injuries.

Patrol officers in East received another call of a motor vehicle accident near Lingan Road in River Ryan, involving a 19-year-old female driver a male passenger in his thirties. Both received non life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.

Charges for these incidents include Refusing the Breathalyser and Failing the Breathalyzer; court dates were not readily available at the time of this release.
