Florence man faces Cocaine charges

August 7, 2020

A 19-year-old man faces drug charges after Cape Breton Regional Police stopped a vehicle on Legatto Street in Sydney Mines overnight.

At approximately 1:30 AM, Patrol officers noted a suspicious vehicle speeding down Atlantic and Ocean streets, which they were able to stop near the intersection of Eagan and Legatto Streets. Officers approached the vehicle and when speaking to the 4 occupants, observed one of the passengers try and hide an item under the seat. Officers identified this to be a bag of drugs and arrested the passenger for further investigation.

River Christopher Jordan Young was remanded to the Cape Breton Correction Centre to appear in Sydney Provincial Court August 13th, charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine.
