Members of the CBRPS Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team entered the house just before 7:30 AM this morning, with a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both residents were arrested and transported to CBRPS lock-up, where they were held in custody for the duration of the search. Police left the residence at approximately 4:00 PM, seizing in excess of $50,000 cash, a loaded hand gun, and a significant amount of Cocaine, as well as Hashish and Hash Oil.
Robert Wallace Hurley and Kimberly Anne Young will face charges of: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Hashish and Hash Oil; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Possession of a Firearm knowing its Unauthorized; and Careless Use of a Firearm.
Both were remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre this evening until tomorrow’s scheduled Court appearance.
