Police charge two with drug trafficking

Two men will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today facing drug trafficking charges after two separate searches under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act yesterday.
Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit and RCMP Drug Section searched a Ninth Street residence in New Waterford at 4:15 PM, seizing a quantity of Hydromorphone pills and arresting a 51-year-old male. He was held in police custody to appear in Court today, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Hydromorphone.
Later at 9:10 PM, police searched a residence on Payne Street in Whitney Pier, seizing Cocaine and cash and arresting a 29-year-old male. He was also held in police custody to appear in Court today, charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine.
