Based on witness description, police located and arrested a suspect in the area a short time later. The 41-year-old North Sydney resident was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court to face charges of: Trespassing by Night, Theft and Possession of stolen Property.

Later, at approximately 6:15 AM, police arrested a man in Glace Bay, after reports that he had been going through vehicles in the Hay Street area. Again, with witness description, police quickly located the suspect, who they also found in possession of a knife. Police arrested 46-year-old Darren Ralph MacDonald, who was later remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre until a Court appearance on Monday, February 24th, when he'll face charges of Trespassing at night, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and three Breaches.
