CBRPS member faces criminal charge

August 31, 2016

A Cape Breton Regional Police officer faces a criminal charge in connection to an incident in July 2016, not related to police duties.

As a result of the investigation, a charge has now been laid against Constable Wade Everett Lavin. He is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on October 18, 2016, facing one charge of Uttering a Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

Constable Lavin was first suspended with pay in October, 2015 for an unrelated occurrence to this file; he remains suspended, pending the outcome of two court proceedings.
