Police first responded to reports of a Break and Enter at the NSLC on Victoria Road at approximately 12:30 AM, where the front window had been smashed and several items were taken. Members of the K-9 Unit were called to assist, tracking footprints away from the store. At approximately 2:30 AM, while on scene at Victoria Road, police were dispatched to a second break and enter at Belly Busters in Membertou, where a dark coloured van was reported leaving the scene. Police followed the vehicle tracks to a location in the ditch near George Street at the ramp to Highway 125.
Police observed three individuals walking in the area; one male fled, but police approached the second male and a female, noting that the male matched a description from the NSLC. Police located stolen items in their possession and placed the two under arrest, without incident. A short time later, after a search of the area, police were able to locate the third suspect who was also in possession of stolen items and placed under arrest. Police also seized the vehicle.
