Police on patrol in the area noticed the ATV driving in the middle of the road and making 360 turns before taking off at a high rate of speed toward the ball field on Pitt Street. Police followed the driver to the area of the bike trails and into a yard, where the driver turned off the ATV and got off the vehicle. Police approached the man, placed him under arrest and seized the ATV.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court on November 7, 2014, when he’ll face a charge of Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle. His release includes conditions to not drive any off-highway vehicle.

Police also charged the driver with three violations under the Off-Highway Vehicles Act for: Operating an Off-Highway Vehicle on the Highway, Operating an Off-Highway Vehicle without a Permit, and Operating an Off-Highway Vehicle without Insurance, each carrying a fine of $406.45
