Wayne Charles Collier is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon (x3), Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm, Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and a Breach of Probation.

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to complaints of a hit and run on Pitt Street in Sydney Mines at approximately 2:00 AM on June 21st, where a man had driven his vehicle into another vehicle and then drove towards and struck a man standing beside that vehicle. The victim later attended Cape Breton Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries which were non-life-threatening.

The suspect was known to the victim; police located and arrested Collier Sunday afternoon, and he was held in police custody until today‚Äôs Court appearance.
