Police responded to complaints of a stabbing in the area at approximately 9:00 PM on May 31st and learned two females had a physical altercation involving a knife. A 34-year-old woman from Glace Bay and 22-year-old woman from Sydney were transported to Cape Breton Regional Hospital to be treated for injuries and then released.
Members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Unit were called to assist with the investigation and police later arrested and charged both women.
Danielle Poulette, of Sydney, was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre Sunday night and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today, facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and one Breach. The second woman was released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Provincial Court when she'll later face charges of Assault and Unlawfully in a Dwelling.
