Investigation revealed the suspect was located at this residence; he would not leave the residence, so police contained the area and obtained a warrant to enter the residence and make the arrest.

Police originally responded to reports of a male covered in blood on Wilson Avenue, at approximately 5:00 PM yesterday evening. Upon police arrival, it was learned the victim had been assaulted by two people, both known to the victim. With the assistance of the K-9 Unit, police arrested the first suspect, an 18-year-old male, in the area a short time after.

The victim was transported to Cape Breton Regional Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Charges are pending against both male suspects; police continue to investigate.
