Police looking for owners of recovered property

The Cape Breton Regional Police have seized a number of stolen items, as a result of a search warrant linked to several break and enters throughout the CBRM. Police are looking to identify the owners of the seized items. Through the investigation, Cape Breton Regional Police believe these items were stolen primarily in the Sydney area.

Do Not Enter signs at Butts Street and Fraser Avenue intersection

The CBRP are advising motorists that two new Do Not Enter signs have been put into place near the intersecting roads of Butts Street and Fraser Avenue in Sydney Mines.

These Do Not Enter signs deny traffic access toward Butts Street off of Fraser Avenue to allow police vehicles an unobstructed exit from the division for emergency response.

Traffic Advisory- Emerald Street and Union Highway (Trunk 28)

The Cape Breton Regional Police Service is advising motorists that two additional stop signs have been added to the intersection of Emerald Street and Union Highway (Trunk 28) in New Waterford (River Ryan/ Scotchtown).

CBRP are reminding all motorists that this intersection is now a 3-way stop and to drive accordingly.

Police charge two men with 28 counts of Arson

Cape Breton Regional Police arrested and charged a 49-year-old North Sydney man and a 24-year-old Bras d’Or man on August 25, in connection with 16 fires throughout the Florence and Bras d’Or communities of the CBRM in recent months.
